FHP have an opportunity, from a long term client with an excellent reputation within the National Grid/Substation Industry.
Our client is looking for a Wireman for a full time/permanently employed position.
The work will be on HV Substations which can be located anywhere in England and potentially Scotland so you must be willing to travel!
Most of the work is on live National Grid substations, so ideally we are looking for someone who has experience in this sector and ideally a Person authorisation.
Works are likely to include:
Assembly and installation of electrical equipment on medium & high-voltage electricity circuits.
Cable glanding and terminating
Reading and following current wiring diagrams
Installation of control and protection relay panels
Working with Red and Green line drawings
installation of LV / HV switchgear, multi-core cables & associated electrical equipment
Elements of Fitting and earthing
Our client is also willing to work with trainee engineers/electricians with the right attitude to develop and learn the above skills.
